Volunteer

Ready to get your hands dirty?

Get involved

This is what Ride Bristol is all about; Bristol’s community coming together to share a few hours of their time to give back to the trails and the community.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with Ride Bristol. We’re a registered charity, and everyone in our organisation is a volunteer. Whether it’s joining us for a trail maintenance day, providing some specialist expertise or even joining us as a trustee – we’d love to welcome you into our community.

You can learn more about what’s involved below.

Dig Days

Our Dig Days are when we repair and rebuild the trails to keep them in tip-top shape. The available dates are shown below; you can sign up for morning or afternoon sessions. We also run major “Big Dig” projects.

Join the team

We’re always looking for new volunteers and trustees. Join our community and help us benefit from your energy, experience and enthusiasm. You’d be surprise what you can help us achieve!

CSR events

We can help your organisation to run a CSR day on the trails, building berms, clearing litter and fixing the wear and tear. It’s a great team-building experience and the results are really tangible for years to come.

Join us on a Dig Day!

Autumn 2026 / Winter 2027

Over the long hot summer the trails have been heavily used and are in need of some care and attention.

Please join us for a Dig Day session (morning or afternoon, or both) – we can’t do this without you!

On October 30th & 31st, we’re going to work on the Nova trail running parallel to Beggar Bush Lane. Specifically, we’ll be working on the section that emerges onto the golf course, around Ben’s Bench. We’ll be restoring the trail surface, adding features, removing vegetation and improving drainage to prepare for the coming winter. We’ll also be installing some signposts.

On November 27th & 28th, we’re going to work on the two sections that connect the Quarry climb and descent with the Picnic Benches area. We’ll be adding features to make these sections more interesting, restoring the trail surface and improving drainage to prepare for the coming winter. Plus more signposts!

Our winter series of Dig Days in early 2027 (January 15th, February 19th & 20th, March 19th & 20th) will focus on essential work, repairs and enhancements to keep the trails fun and exciting. The exact locations will be decided in due course.
